Use of OCT and OCTA in Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Trials

Amir H. Kashani, MD, PhD, assistant professor of clinical ophthalmology, USC Roski Eye Institute, Keck Medicine of USC, demonstrates how a layered construction of OCT angiography images could help detect the clinical reversal of diabetic retinopathy. The combining of multiple OCT images and OCT angiographic creates a contrast map. Larger clinical trials are ongoing to demonstrate the ability to detect changes in retinal vasculature.
