Franziska Ullrich

Dr. Franziska Ullrich pursued her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in mechanical engineering and robotics at ETH Zurich in Switzerland and gained complementary experience during practical work in Australia, Sweden, China, and Switzerland. In 2016, Franziska completed her doctorate at the Multi-Scale Robotics Laboratory at ETH Zurich. Her research focused on tethered and untethered microrobotic devices to assist in ophthalmic surgery. Franziska has authored numerous publications on innovative robotics for ophthalmic interventions. For her work, she has received several awards and was included in the prestigious Forbes “30 under 30” list. Currently, Franziska works as CEO and co-founder of the startup company Ophthorobotics AG. She is highly passionate about the development and commercialization of the worldwide first system that injects medication intravitreally for safe and efficient treatment.
