Amy Hopkin, PhD

Amy Hopkin is an accomplished leader in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries with over a decade of experience in driving innovation and strategic growth. Amy’s career began at Allergan/AbbVie, where she worked for seven years as a Discovery Scientist. In this role, she was involved in early-stage drug discovery and research across multiple TA including ophthalmology, laying a strong foundation for her expertise in the pharmaceutical industry. Following her time at Allergan, Amy transitioned to a small medical device company, where she spent two years honing her skills in a more specialized, entrepreneurial environment.

Since 2022 Amy has been a Director of Search and Evaluation, Eye Care, at AbbVie, where she plays a key role in identifying and evaluating potential opportunities that align with the company’s vision and expand its Eye Care pipeline.

Amy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from California State University, San Marcos, and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California, Irvine. Outside of her professional endeavors, Amy is deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of scientists and leaders, and she enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family.
