Biography

Dr. Anne Fung is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist specializing in medical diseases of the macula, retina, and vitreous. After completing an ophthalmology residency at Stanford University, Dr. Fung completed fellowship training in Macular and Retinal Diseases at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and a research fellowship at the Smith Kettlewell Eye Research Institute.
At Pacific Eye Associates, Dr. Fung specializes in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, and retinal vein occlusions while caring for the comprehensive ophthalmologic needs of her patients.
Dr. Fung provides the most current medical therapies including the anti-VEGF agents Lucentis and Avastin, and laser treatments as she considers them appropriate for each patient. She also directs the clinical research program at Pacific Eye Associates and is the principal investigator on multiple studies on age-related macular degeneration.
In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Fung actively contributes to the medical literature by publishing on topics of macular degeneration, reporting standards in the ophthalmic literature, and retinal therapies and imaging, and serving as an editorial board member and peer-reviewer for ophthalmic journals.
