Dante Pieramici, MD

Dante Pieramici is Director of the California Retina Research Foundation and a Managing Partner of The California Retina Consultants, CA, USA. He is the former Vice President of the American Society of Ocular Trauma and President of the Santa Barbara County Medical Society. He is a Board member for Surgical Eye Expeditions (S.E.E.) International and regularly trains international ophthalmologists from underserved areas. In recognition of his work, Dr. Pieramici has been awarded the Senior Achievement Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Honor Award by the American Society of Retinal Specialists. Dr. Pieramici has acted as clinical investigator, principal investigator, reading center investigator, and executive committee member for more than 60 National Institutes of Health trials, pharmaceutical company-sponsored clinical trials, and Investigator-Initiated Trials. He regularly lectures nationally and internationally on retinal diseases and ocular trauma. In addition, Dr. Pieramici has published over 110 peer-reviewed articles, 18 book chapters, and has edited three books on retinal diseases. He has served as an advisor/consultant for numerous healthcare-related companies.
