Biography
Dr. Hampton received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1995. She then began her doctoral studies at the University of Virginia in 1996 and received a PhD in Microbiology in 2004. Dr. Hampton completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Laboratory of Allergic Diseases at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease/National Institutes of Health in 2006, after which she accepted the position of Microbiologist in the Division of Ophthalmic and Ear, Nose and Throat Devices (DOED). Dr. Hampton was a Branch Chief of the Contact Lenses and Retinal Devices Branch (CLRD) in DOED from 2013 – 2017 and is currently Associate Director for the division.
