Biography
Donald J. D’Amico, MD, Professor and Chairman of Ophthalmology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Ophthalmologist-in-Chief at New York Presbyterian Hospital, is an internationally recognized leader in vitreoretinal diseases. A graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Illinois College of Medicine, he completed his residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Dr. D’Amico is a distinguished national and international lecturer and is the recipient of many honors, including the Life Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is highly active in professional societies, including Past President of the Retina Society, and he is the immediate Past President of the prestigious international retinal society Club Jules Gonin.
