Flemming Ornskov, MD

Dr. Flemming Ornskov was appointed Chief Executive Officer Designate and a member of Shire’s Board of Director’s on January 2, 2013. On April 30, 2013, Dr. Ornskov assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Ornskov brings to his position extensive international, strategic, and operational experience in the pharmaceutical sector, as well as medical expertise as a former pediatric intensive care physician.
Dr. Ornskov held the position of Chief Marketing Officer and Global Head, Strategic Marketing for General and Specialty Medicine at Bayer from 2010 to 2012. Dr. Ornskov received his MD from the University of Copenhagen, MBA from INSEAD, and Master of Public Health from Harvard University.
