Heather Floyd

Heather earned a PhD in Cancer Biology and Toxicology from Wake Forest University in 2005 with a focus in lung cancer. Post-graduate, she was a post-doc at the US EPA, working as on the toxicologist for the US EPA in the Pulmonary and Cardiovascular division. Heather joined Alcon as a Project Toxicologist in 2008, leading the toxicology plans for both pharmaceutical and device-related projects. In 2013, Heather transitioned into the Business Development team at Alcon as the Head of Search and Evaluation for Pharmaceutical Ophthalmics and Ear Nose and Throat. She then transitioned onto the Novartis team in 2015. In the S&E role, Heather led the evaluation of various ophthalmic deals, now in the Novartis pipeline. Since 2016, Heather acts as a Director of New Product in Ophthalmology at Novartis, developing disease area strategies for refractive disorders, glaucoma and rare diseases.
