Jonathan Talamo, MD

Dr. Talamo is the former Chief Medical Officer and Worldwide VP of Clinical and Medical Affairs at Johnson and Johnson Vision. Prior to that, he served as the Chief Medical Officer at Ocular Therapeutix, an ophthalmic drug delivery company, where he oversaw clinical development programs in multiple therapeutic areas, including post – cataract surgery inflammation, dry eye, allergy, glaucoma and retinal vascular diseases. Internationally-known as an ophthalmologist, innovator and consultant to industry with more than 25 years of experience in healthcare, Dr. Talamo played a significant role in the development of many new ophthalmic surgical technologies, especially PRK, LASIK and image-guided laser cataract surgery. Dr. Talamo received his B.A. and M.D. degrees from the Johns Hopkins University followed by an internship in medicine at Children’s Hospital/University of California at San Francisco, residency training at the Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute of the Johns Hopkins Hospital and fellowship training in Cornea and External diseases at MEEI/Harvard Medical School. Dr. Talamo has been a member of the Harvard Medical School faculty since 1990, serving as an Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology before entering Industry full time in 2016.
