Kim Smith

Kim Smith is Founder and CIO of Ausangate Capital, a variable-net biotechnology-focused hedge fund. She has a combined 20 years of experience in various healthcare research and investment roles, primarily focused on biotechnology. In her 14 years investing in biotechnology and healthcare companies, she has worked at the most successful multi-strategy hedge funds and a well-known mutual fund. Outside of her investment experiences, Kim Smith has also worked in equity research and with several biotechnology companies in a business development and strategy capacity. She earned an A.B. from Harvard College, and during that time, worked in a research capacity in Anthony Letai’s lab at DFCI. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in Miami, and as Chair of the Wyoming Bioscience Alliance.
