Mark Wieland, MD

Dr. Mark Wieland is the president of Northern California Retina Vitreous Associates, one of the premier and largest vitreoretinal practices in the Bay Area. He started the clinical research division of the practice and has been involved in over 60 clinical trials. He is a scientific advisor for many ophthalmic and pharmaceutical companies, has authored various papers, and presented at several scientific meetings.

Dr. Wieland has also taught in his career, joining the clinical faculties of the Department of Ophthalmology at both the University of California San Francisco and Stanford University.

Additionally, he has volunteered for the last 25 years working in the Republic of Palau, performing laser treatments for diabetic retinopathy and performing cataract surgery.
