Michael Chen, OD

Dr. Michael Chen graduated from UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 2014. He completed his optometric internships at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Palo Alto, Kaiser Roseville, and Vandenberg Air Force Base, and has been providing excellent vision care at Silicon Valley Eyecare since 2014. Dr. Chen manages the Clinical Research team at Carl Zeiss Meditec, exploring new technologies to help diagnose eye diseases earlier and with more accuracy. Dr. Chen is an active member of the Santa Clara County Optometric Society (SCCOS), the California Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association. He is the editor of the SCCOS Focus Newsletter and serves as a board member. Dr. Chen is certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease, is Glaucoma Certified, and Paragon CRT Certified. Dr. Chen is a consultant for EyePACS, which partners with different organizations to provide eye care to remote areas in developing nations using web-based technology. He also volunteers at various local vision screenings. When not involved with optometry, Dr. Chen spends his time playing and recording music, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
