Ravi Durvasula, PhD

Ravi Durvasula leads Alcon’s Vitreoretinal Surgical Instrumentation R&D. He has extensive experience in medical devices and in leading global product development teams. Previously, Ravi held technical leadership positions at Medtronic (Minimally Invasive Therapies), GE, and JDSU. Prior to joining industry, he worked as researcher in the area of Biophotonics and Imaging. Ravi has authored numerous technical papers, holds multiple patents, and chaired major international symposiums. Ravi obtained a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University.
