Refractive Cataract Surgery – Challenges & Opportunities

Jack T. Holladay, MD, MSEE, FACS
Dr. Jack T. Holladay is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist, who received a Medical Degree and Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Texas and a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University.
Laurent Attias is Senior Vice President, Head of Strategy, BD&L and M&A. In this role, Mr. Attias leads the development of Alcon’s long-term strategic plan.
Murthy V. Simhambhatla
Murthy V. Simhambhatla, PhD, is Sr. VP, Abbott Medical Optics, heading up the company’s global vision care business. Dr. Simhambhatla was appointed to this position in January 2013.

Stephen Slade, MD
Stephen Glenn Slade graduated from the University of Texas (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) with a final, elective year spent at Guy’s Hospital in London. He completed a residency at LSU in New Orleans and fellowships at Baylor College of Medicine and Project ORBIS in New York.

Vance Thompson, MD is an internationally recognized specialist in Laser Vision Correction and Advanced Cataract Surgery. As a leading international researcher he has played a key role in the development of the most advanced technologies and techniques for both laser and implant vision correction.
Thomas Frinzi is Senior Vice President of Abbott’s vision business, which includes a broad ophthalmology portfolio across the areas of cataracts, refractive surgery (LASIK) and eye health products. Prior to joining Abbott, Mr. Frinzi held a number of leadership positions in ophthalmology and medical device companies.
