Biography

Dr. Weiss is a board-certified ophthalmologist and the Founder of Chicago Eye Consultants. He is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Rush University Medical Center, as well as the Chairman of Ophthalmology at MacNeal Hospital. Dr. Weiss is a member of several local and national societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Emory University in Atlanta, his medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, and completed his ophthalmology residency at The University of Chicago. His continued success as a physician-investor has been the main impetus for the current growth and expansion for InFocus Capital Partners. Dr. Weiss was a co-founder of the boutique private equity firm Prescient Capital Partners. At Prescient, he has had experience investing in companies across a broad range of industries, including Eyetech Pharmaceuticals, BodyMedia/Jawbone, Effen Vodka, VTI Spine, Treasury Curve, Pinstripes and Trupanion. In 2016, he co-founded InFocus Capital Partners, LLC with Rob Rothman, MD. Some of their current investments include CellView Imaging, QURA, Camras Vision, Trefoil Therapeutics, Galimedix, Pr3vent and 2CTech. Dr. Weiss is, or has been, on the Board of Directors for Pinstripes, CellView Imaging, Biometric and Infuse Spirits. He is on the Board of the Chicago Children’s Choir, where he is an Executive Committee member and heads the Nominating Committee. Dr. Weiss is also a board member of the Rush Medical Center Associates Board and the Civic Committee for Art Expo Chicago.
