Roy Rubinfeld, MD
Biography
Dr. Rubinfeld was the first Washington area ophthalmologist to become involved in the care of laser vision correction patients in 1991. He has performed tens of thousands of LASIK and many PRK and other vision correction procedures. After five years of treating hundreds of laser patients, Dr. Rubinfeld had laser vision correction himself in 1995 and now sees better than 20/20 without glasses. In 1998, he performed laser vision correction on his wife and they are still married.
Dr. Rubinfeld has been interviewed regarding laser vision correction, keratoconus treatments, how to select an eye surgeon, and other topics by The Washington Post, Newsweek, Washingtonian, ABC Evening News, Good Morning America, USA Today, Consumer’s Digest, The New York Times, Consumer Reports, CNN Headline News, ABC Evening News, The Today Show, and dozens of radio and television stations throughout the US.
He has consistently been named one of the “Best Doctors in Washington” by Washingtonian
Magazine and one of the “Best Doctors in America” by Castle Connolly.
Dr. Rubinfeld is the author of dozens of scientific papers, book chapters and monographs. He lectures extensively nationally and internationally.
