Shareef Mahdavi

Shareef Mahdavi founded SM2 Strategic in 2001, a firm dedicated to optimizing the patient experience. He advises medical device firms on their commercial launches as well as physician practices. Early in his career he led the US launch for laser manufacturer VISX (now part of JnJ Vision), helping LASIK become the most widely performed elective surgical procedure worldwide. He has authored over 100 articles and reports on the growth of elective services and is a recognized expert on The Experience Economy. His new book, “Beyond Bedside Manner: Insights on Perfecting the Patient Experience” ( 276 pp. Seven Story Publishing) is geared to helping doctors and their teams create competitive advantage for the practice through a focus on the overall customer experience.
