Thomas Burns

Mr. Burns has served as Glaukos President, CEO and as a member of the Board of Directors since March 2002. He has also served on the board of directors of DOSE Medical Corporation since October 2009. He has over 25 years of ophthalmic management experience, including over 20 years of general management experience spanning ophthalmic medical devices, ophthalmic pharmaceuticals, drug delivery technologies, surgical products and OTC products. Prior to Glaukos, Mr. Burns led Eyetech Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (acquired by OSI Pharmaceuticals) as its president and chief operating officer, and as a director. From 1990 to 1997, he served as senior vice president and general manager of Chiron Vision Corporation (acquired by Bausch & Lomb), and then as vice president, global strategy and general manager, refractive surgery, of Bausch & Lomb from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Burns has also served as an entrepreneur in residence at Versant Ventures Management, LLC. He received a B.A. from Yale University.
