Tomo Oe, PhD

Dr. Tomo Oe currently holds the role of Scouting & Transaction Lead in Business Development at Astellas Pharma, where he leads search & evaluation and transaction efforts in the fields of ophthalmology, gene therapy, and cell therapy. With over five years of specialized experience in business development, Dr. Oe has played a pivotal role in securing strategic partnerships with top-tier companies globally, significantly contributing to enrichment of Astellas pipeline portfolio and establishment of new capabilities.

Previously, Dr. Oe served as a drug discovery researcher with extensive expertise in muscle and neuroscience therapeutic areas, contributing to enrichment of Astellas’ clinical pipelines, where he led several high-impact drug discovery projects from early discovery-stage to clinical-stage.

Dr. Oe has authored more than 14 peer reviewed papers and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Kyushu.
